Today was my first lupron injection! I woke up early to be able to inject myself before Surfer had to leave for work. I was very nervous, but I pretended not to be. This shot is pretty easy; no mixing of the drugs at all. Clean the lupron bottle with an alcohol wipe, inject the needle, draw out the medication, wipe the stomach with an alcohol wipe and away you go! Stab it in, inject, wait three seconds, and... done! I actually numbed the area with ice first, and I didn't even feel the shot. I was so relieved!
I am really feeling overwhelmed today with worry that none of this is going to work. So, I am going to put on my blinders and be as stubborn as an ox - I'm not going to think beyond today! Today was a great milestone: I began suppression injections, it went well, and so far, no side effects. YAY!!!!! And that's as far as I'm going to think. Milestone - accomplished!
