Thank you, Lord, for staying with us through this, for seeing us past another milestone! Praise the Lord!
We went in on Saturday morning for suppression check. This is where they do bloodwork and an ultrasound to make sure no cysts have developed on the ovaries and also to make sure the hormone levels are appropriately low. If either one of these measures were off, we would have had to bench this IVF cycle and go on another round of BCPs. BUT - everything looked great! Thank you, Lord!
I was nervous; but the doc said my ovaries were resting happily with the hoped-for number of antral follicles (8 per side). Later in the day, the coordinator called with bloodowork results that were great and gave us the go-ahead to start the stim drugs!
Now I am taking three shots a day; a lower dose of Lupron in the morning, followed by 150 IU of Gonal-f, and 75 IU of Menopur in the evening (that shot hurts a bit more than the others). Add in baby aspirin, an antibiotic, prenatals, and folic acid and you have the whole cocktail!
I will go in again on Tuesday morning for more bloodwork, and they'll tell me how to adjust my medication for the following day or two. Things should really pick up now that we're in this phase. Next stop: Egg Retrieval.
